Services:
The Cardinal Joint Fire Department was the first fire department in the Mahoning County to provide emergency medical services. It is the only department in the county to offer first-responder paramedic services. After calling 911, responders from both the Lisbon Street location and the Messerly Road location report to the emergency. Both fire stations are staffed with a minimum of two personnel, one paramedic and one first responder/EMT 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year (Rarick 2014). In an emergency situation, the patient is stabilized by the Emergency Medical Service until an ambulance arrives. Their goal is to give the best service possible in a timely manner. |
